Where to find a rescue kitten near Norwich
Every young cat listed with us inside 25 miles of Norwich appears on our Norwich kittens page. These are the three rescues behind it, with what they had on their own pages on 6 November 2026.
PACT Animal Sanctuary, Woodrising
PACT's litter of five boys and a girl was born around 8 August, and two were reserved by the time we looked. It describes them as playful but unsure at first, suits them to homes with children of 8 or over, and will neuter them itself when they are old enough. Three more, born in July, were with one of its foster carers, and its cats page warns that replies can take a couple of weeks.
FAITH Animal Rescue, Hickling
FAITH had two 3-month-olds that came in at six weeks, very feral, and are still building confidence; one of them needs an indoor-only home. A 4-month-old must go with the young adult cat that took him under her wing. FAITH's cats are vaccinated against leukaemia as well as flu and enteritis, and kittens too young to neuter come back at about 5 to 6 months.
Venture Farm Cat Rescue, near Mattishall
Venture Farm always homes kittens in pairs and keeps littermates together. Its one pair that day were two very scared little girls who need a quiet home with adults only. You visit the farm by appointment, it checks your home, and you collect at an agreed time.
Kittens for Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft
FAITH at Hickling is about 12 miles from Great Yarmouth and about 20 from Lowestoft, so its kittens show on our Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft cat pages too. Read its adoption agreement before you apply: it is the same for every adopter.
Kitten rules at the rescues near Norwich
Before a kitten leaves, expect to agree to these:
- Two together. Venture Farm homes kittens in pairs only.
- Six to eight weeks in. FAITH's agreement keeps a new cat indoors for its first 6 to 8 weeks.
- Away from main roads. PACT won't home a cat on an A or B road or a busy main road.
- Whole household. PACT wants everyone who lives with you to visit the kitten at the sanctuary.
What comes with a rescue kitten
Venture Farm vaccinates, neuters, chips and vet checks its cats and treats them for fleas, ticks and worms before they go. Every pet cat in England has to be microchipped by 20 weeks, rescue or not. Open to an adult cat instead? Our guide to cat rescues around Norwich covers them.
Searching "kittens for sale Norwich" or "Norfolk"?
Rescues don't sell kittens. You apply, the rescue matches you with one, and the donation helps pay for the vet care it has already had. Our kittens page carries no prices: the rescue looking after each kitten handles its adoption.
Buying? Pet shops and dealers in England have been barred from selling any kitten younger than six months since 6 April 2020 (Lucy's Law), so the seller should be the breeder. See the kitten with its mother, and pass any seller who wants money first to Report Fraud.
The law in England
Microchipping cats
In England, cats must be microchipped before they are 20 weeks old and registered on a database, a rule in force since 10 June 2024. An owner found without one has 21 days to comply or may be fined up to £500. Free-living cats (farm, feral and community cats) are exempt.
Lucy's Law: buying a kitten
In England, Lucy's Law has meant since 6 April 2020 that kittens under six months can't be sold by a third party such as a pet shop or dealer: you buy direct from the breeder or adopt from a rehoming centre.
