Peterborough Cat Rescue had a bonded pair of 10 week old kittens, a girl of about 8 weeks and another of 4 months in its foster homes, every one already with a viewing or applications under review. Near Wisbech, Ravenswood Pet Rescue had three kittens of 8 to 9 weeks.
Lincs Ark said it had more kittens and cats in foster that weren't ready for its website yet, so ask it directly.
Peterborough Cat Rescue's youngest kittens went through its Proof of Neutering scheme: you pay your own vet for the neutering, chip or jabs still to do and send back a stamped form. Ravenswood's kittens leave chipped with a first jab and need neutering later, and Lincs Ark gives a voucher for a kitten too young to be done.
Peterborough Cat Rescue asks a minimum donation of £100 a cat, paid in cash. Lincs Ark asks at least £110 a kitten, and Ravenswood charged £70 a kitten that day.
Looking for "kittens for sale" around Peterborough or Spalding? Ravenswood's £70 and Peterborough Cat Rescue's £100 are donations towards chips, jabs and neutering, not a sale price. If a private seller asks for money up front, before you have seen the kitten with its mother, let Report Fraud know.
Each rescue sets its own fee. Cats Protection says you can expect to pay £80 to £120 on average for an adult cat and £100 to £120 for a kitten, varying between its branches, and Blue Cross kittens up to 16 weeks start from £175. The fee usually covers neutering, microchipping and first vaccinations, and each rescue confirms its own fee.

Yes. Lucy's Law stops third-party sales, not rescues. In England, Lucy's Law has meant since 6 April 2020 that kittens under six months can't be sold by a third party such as a pet shop or dealer: you buy direct from the breeder or adopt from a rehoming centre.
Yes, in England. Since 10 June 2024 cats must be microchipped before they are 20 weeks old and registered on a database. Check the kitten's profile or ask the rescue whether it has been chipped.
At the large charities, the fee pays for that vet work. Cats Protection says its cats are vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and neutered (or come with a neutering voucher if they are young kittens), with a vet health check and four weeks' free insurance. Smaller rescues set their own terms, so ask what a particular kitten has had and whether a vaccination or neutering is still due.

It depends on the cat, not its size or age. As of 7 November 2026, the rescues mark 1 of the 9 kittens listed in and around Peterborough as able to live with children, 5 with other cats and 3 with dogs. Where a profile says nothing, ask the rescue, and supervise early meetings with children whatever the cat.

For comparison, Cats Protection says £100 to £120 for a kitten on average. Not here: we only list cats with rescues, so every kitten listed here is adopted for the rescue's fee, which usually covers vet work already done. Whether to buy is your choice. Adopting means the rescue can tell you what it knows about the kitten's history and health before you apply. If you decide to buy a pedigree kitten, Cats Protection suggests a breeder registered with a breed association such as the GCCF, and seeing the kitten with its mother at home rather than buying from a video or social media advert.
Usually not. UK rescues normally ask for an adoption fee, which pays towards neutering, microchipping and vaccinations. Of the 9 kittens listed in and around Peterborough today, each shows its rescue's fee on the profile; the nearest rescue is Peterborough Cat Rescue in Peterborough. At the large cat charities, fees for one cat are under £200: Cats Protection says £80 to £120 on average for an adult cat and £100 to £120 for a kitten, and Blue Cross fees start from £150 for cats aged 4 months to 7 years. An animal offered "free to a good home" is usually a private advert rather than a rescue. In England, cats must be microchipped before they are 20 weeks old, so ask to see the microchip details.
