Kittens in Angus: your questions

Tap a question to expand

How many kittens are available for adoption in Angus?

As of 8 November 2026, no kittens are listed for adoption in and around Angus on LocalPetFinder. Rescues add animals all the time, so this page fills as they list them.

Can rescues rehome kittens under six months?

Yes. Lucy's Law stops third-party sales, not rescues. In Scotland, Lucy's Law has banned the third-party sale of kittens under six months since 1 September 2021.

Do kittens need to be microchipped?

Only in England, where cats must be microchipped before they are 20 weeks old. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland microchipping a cat is your choice. Check the kitten's profile or ask the rescue whether it has been chipped.

Are rescue kittens vaccinated and neutered when I adopt them?

At the large charities, the fee pays for that vet work. Cats Protection says its cats are vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and neutered (or come with a neutering voucher if they are young kittens), with a vet health check and four weeks' free insurance. Smaller rescues set their own terms, so ask what a particular kitten has had and whether a vaccination or neutering is still due.

Can I adopt two kittens together in Angus?

No kittens are listed in and around Angus today. When they are, you can ask a rescue whether two could go home with you. Each rescue sets its own fee for a pair, so ask what it charges. Cats their rescue lists as a bonded pair are on our bonded cats page.

How much does it cost to adopt a kitten in Angus?

Each rescue sets its own adoption fee, and Cats Protection says you can expect to pay £80 to £120 on average for an adult cat and £100 to £120 for a kitten, varying between its branches. The fee usually covers neutering, microchipping and first vaccinations, and each rescue confirms its own fee.

Are there kittens for sale in Angus?

No. We don't list animals for sale. Every kitten on this page is with a rescue or rehoming centre. Rescues rehome animals rather than selling them, usually for an adoption fee: for example, Cats Protection says £100 to £120 for a kitten on average. The fee usually goes towards vet work already done, such as neutering, microchipping and first vaccinations. In Scotland, Lucy's Law has banned the third-party sale of kittens under six months since 1 September 2021.

Where can I buy a kitten in Angus, and should I?

Not here: we only list cats with rescues, so every kitten listed here is adopted for the rescue's fee, which usually covers vet work already done. Whether to buy is your choice. Adopting means the rescue can tell you what it knows about the kitten's history and health before you apply. If you decide to buy a pedigree kitten, Cats Protection suggests a breeder registered with a breed association such as the GCCF, and seeing the kitten with its mother at home rather than buying from a video or social media advert.

Can I get a free kitten to a good home in Angus, or one under £100?

Usually not. UK rescues normally ask for an adoption fee, which pays towards neutering, microchipping and vaccinations. At the large cat charities, fees for one cat are under £200: Cats Protection says £80 to £120 on average for an adult cat and £100 to £120 for a kitten. An animal offered "free to a good home" is usually a private advert rather than a rescue.

Is there a kitten rescue near me in Angus?

This page lists every kitten with the rescues we list in Angus and within about 25 miles of it, Angus first and then nearest first, each with its town and distance. You can also see kittens across Scotland. To see what is closest to you, search by postcode with the pet finder on our home page. To hear when one is listed, set up an email alert on this page.
