Rabbit rescue near Belfast
The one rescue we list with rabbits in Northern Ireland is Assisi Animal Sanctuary at Conlig, about 10 miles from Belfast. On 6 November 2026 its small animals page had seven rabbits on four cards, among them a trio of Lionhead crosses, a reserved pair of Mini Lops and Coco, a Dutch rabbit it wants to pair with a friend.
Assisi charges £45 for a rabbit, and says it neuters, vaccinates and worms every animal in its care. You apply on the rabbit's own page, it rings you to talk it through, and you visit before anything is agreed; it doesn't rehome on the day.

Are there rabbits for sale in Belfast?
Not on LocalPetFinder: we don't list animals for sale. The rabbits on this page are at Assisi Animal Sanctuary at Conlig, which rehomes them for a £45 fee after an application and a visit. If you searched "rabbits for sale Northern Ireland", Assisi's rabbits come neutered, vaccinated and wormed, and the fee helps pay for its health checks.
Where can I adopt a rabbit near Belfast?
At Assisi Animal Sanctuary at Conlig, near Newtownards, about 10 miles from Belfast. It is the only rescue we list with rabbits in Northern Ireland so far.
Does a rescue rabbit near Belfast need a companion?
Assisi thinks so for Coco, a Dutch rabbit on his own: it is looking for a friend for him and asks people who already have a single rabbit at home to apply.

Is LocalPetFinder the same as Petfinder?
No. LocalPetFinder is an independent UK website and is not connected with Petfinder. We bring together dogs, cats and rabbits from UK rescues and rehoming centres, and every profile links to the rescue that cares for the animal, so you apply with them directly.
How is LocalPetFinder different from Pets4Homes?
Pets4Homes describes itself as the UK’s largest online pet marketplace, connecting buyers with breeders as well as shelters and charities. LocalPetFinder is for adoption: our listings come from rescues and rehoming centres and from owners rehoming their own pet, each checked by a reviewer before it goes live. We do not take adverts from breeders.
