About Fred

Fred is a handsome boy who recently came into NCAR as a stray. We unfortunately have no history on this lovely boy however we believe he will make a great addition to a lucky family. Fred can be timid when first meeting some people but is quickly won around and will happily head off with volunteers here at the rescue, he is growing more confident each and every day. We are enjoying seeing him come out of his shell and show off his playful and cheeky side. Fred enjoys his walks although he can be quite eager and strong on lead, he does need some training in this area and his handler should be capable of managing his strength. Fred is a fit and active dog looking for a home with people to take him on lots of adventures. We are still assessing Fred around other dogs but so far he seems okay in their presence, mostly he has tended to have a quick sniff and then ignore them! For now we are looking for a home where Fred will be the only dog but this may be flexible depending on further assessments. Fred could be rehomed with older sensible children 14+ particularly those who are interested in helping out with his training. Overall Fred is a great boy who just needs some tidying up around the edges. He will make a great adventure buddy and has a lot of potential in the right home. Please note that Fred’s age is just an approximation due to no information on his microchip. It is recommended that potential adopters do research into the breed mixture that we believe he may be and understand the characteristics and traits of both breeds. We hope Fred is not waiting too long before he finds his forever home.
