About Falcon

Falcon is a nervous but playful boy who was found as a stray, unfortunately his previous owner did not come forward to claim him so he is now looking for his new forever home. Falcon is an energetic and intelligent boy, his favourite thing to do is play fetch or have a good game of tug of war. He would play all day if he could! He can be unsure around strangers and having unfamiliar people in his space, so any potential adopters would need to visit the rescue multiple times in order to build up a bond with him. Falcon is getting more playful and showing us his cheeky side in the paddock, it can just take him a bit of time to warm up to you to begin with. He has shown to be quite fearful around the vets and we are currently working on muzzle training him which he is doing well with, so new owners need to be prepared to put time into de-sensitizing him in this area gradually. Falcon will need plenty of exercise in his new home, so is looking for an active owner to fulfill his exercise needs. He can be strong on lead but does settle down nicely when away from the rescue. We have noted that Falcon can panic when he sees other dogs and can react if allowed to, so is looking for a home in a quiet area and will need exercising in areas not frequented by lots of dogs whilst owners work on his reactivity. Our behaviourist is available to offer assistance in these areas. Falcon has been fairly clean in his kennel since arriving with us and we expect only a small refresher should be needed for him to be fully housetrained in the home. He has also settled nicely and we have not seen any destructive behaviours from him when inside of his kennel. Falcon would love a large secure garden to play in without neighbouring dogs and a quiet adult only home without many visitors. We know we are looking for quite a specific home for this quirky boy but we would really love to see him relax and learn to trust people and he needs an appropriate home to do so. With lots of training and confidence building we hope Falcon will thrive.
