About Arthur & Molly

Arthur and Molly are two terrified strays that were found together, and unfortunately we have had no history on them. They are now looking for a forever home where they can settle as they are both so scared of kennels at the moment. While they are very attached to each other, we can look at keeping them together, or separating them for the right home. It will be beneficial for them to live with another dog. They are looking for homes with owners who are dog-savvy and experienced with nervous dogs. Both dogs arrived very scared, they would both hide in the back of their kennel and not want to come out. It has taken kennel staff a long time for them to settle and get them out for very short walks in calm areas. Arthur is more confident then Molly, but both are still very shut down and will need a very dedicated, calm and patient home that can let them settle and come out of their shell in their own time. They will accept handling / being stroked but they are very scared of sudden movements and only tolerate being handled. Anyone interested in them will have to be patient and have a hands-off approach until they are more settled and happy with being handled. They are both in good condition, but they did not have a microchip or any information. We guessing they are related, with Molly just being slightly smaller then Arthur - we are estimating they are around 2Years old. We have done limited testing with both Arthur and Molly due to how scared they are, but Arthur has met dogs out on walks and is very interested to say hi, we can look at doing mixes with any potential compatitable dogs but anyone interested will have to be dedicated to come up on a couple visits to make sure everyone gets on well. They are currently in the same kennel and will sleep in the same bed together - we do seperate them to feed them as Arthur will eat all of Molly's food. They are looking for a home with older children, that can give them space when the dogs need it and not overcrowd them. They are a big flight risk at the moment, so gardens and the home will need to be very secure and any walks will need to be on lead until they are more confident and they have reliable recall. At the moment on walks, they both try and hide under furniture, hedges and against walls. They will need a lot of training and time dedicated to building their confidence outside - as well as needing house training, lead training. Molly and Arthur have clearly had sucy a bad start to life and we hope they both find a home soon so they can have some home comforts and enjoy life. They are both incredible dogs and have so much potential for the right home. Please include plenty of information on your application so we can try and find them the best home for them.
