Ruby

RUBY Ruby is a 2.5 year old spayed female GSD who is looking for a very special home. She is chipped and in date for vaccinations. Ruby was homed by the rescue 2 years ago (she was in one of the litters of pups that we were asked to help rehome) Sadly after the sad loss of one of her owners she had to come back to us. Since then she has been in kennels. Ruby is a very nervous little girl with people she doesn’t know and very much looks to her handler for confidence and safety otherwise she will lunge at people. Ruby has developed a strong bond with a couple of the volunteers who have been working remotely with a behaviourist and they now all feel she is ready to find her forever home. Once confident with her handler she is a happy little girl who loves playing ball, swimming in water and generally run about. Her recall is good , her lead walking does require more work. She is crate trained. Ruby is now also muzzle trained and wears a muzzle if in busy areas or meeting new people This behavioural support will be offered (remotely) to any new adopter. Ruby has been introduced successfully to quite a few dogs including one of the volunteers very own young male gsd and she has interacted very well. Ruby’s new home requirements are below. These are NON NEGOTIABLE due to past incidents with her in her previous home. These incidents will be fully disclosed to any potential adopter. 🐾 Adult only – absolutely no children or visiting children 🐾 GSD and rescue experience – experience with nervous dogs 🐾 Potential adopter must be prepared to travel to Southampton kennels to meet her multiple times and be prepared to take part in the handling programme she is currently in. This is to ensure safe handovers 🐾 A quiet home with very few visitors- if you have regular family or friend visits she is not the dog for you 🐾 A safe place in the home for her to go should anyone need to come in the house- she is crate trained. 🐾 Be prepared to muzzle Ruby when out in busy areas to keep her safe 🐾 Have a dog friendly /people friendly male dog of a similar energy level or slightly older -will require careful introductions and need to be able to separate dogs in the home when left initially 🐾 Can live as an only dog 🐾 No other pets (no to cats or small furries) If you feel the above list is too picky then please scroll past her post.
