About Bilbo
I would like an adult only home with adopters who have plenty of time for me.
I would be happy to be homed as an only dog! I have never met cats.
I would like a secure garden with 6ft+ fences.
I would love one or two slow walks a day!
I have lived in a home before so know the basics, but I may need a few reminders!
I have been neutered and am ready for my forever home.
07-11-26 Bilbo is a gorgeous boy who has found his way into our care after spending nine years in a home before sadly being returned to his breeder. He is an absolutely lovely boy who is very much a family dog and is ready to find somewhere to enjoy his golden years.
Bilbo will be looking for a loving home with adopters who have experience with dogs of a similar breed. At the moment, we feel he would be best suited to an adult-only home where he can have the time, patience and understanding he needs to settle into his new home. Bilbo does show signs of separation anxiety and can become quite unsettled when people leave his kennel and will bark at them to try and stop them leaving. He will need adopters who are happy to work with him on this, helping him to feel more comfortable and gradually building up the time he can be left alone. With patience, consistency and lots of reassurance, we hope he will soon learn that he is safe and doesn't need to worry when his people leave him.
Although Bilbo is an older boy, you wouldn't know his age when you meet him! Bilbo is outgoing, friendly and just wants to be everyone's best friend. He walks well on a lead, although he can be a little strong at times. Bilbo is confident enough that he could be homed as an only dog as long as his adopters were around most of the time and had plenty of time to spend with him. At the moment he is kenneled alone, but we will start introducing him to other dogs and in the right circumstances he may be able to be homed with another kind resident dog.
Having previously lived in a home, Bilbo may already know some of the basics, although he might need a few gentle reminders as he adjusts to his new surroundings. He has some stiffness in his legs, which is to be expected with age, and he will be started on YuMOVE to help support his joints.
Bilbo has already given nine years of his life to a home, and he deserves nothing more than to spend his golden years surrounded by love, comfort and all the fuss he could ever want. We really hope someone will see what a special boy he is and offer him the forever home he so deserves.
Bilbo has a travel document.
