About Parker
I need a calm and quiet, adult only home where I can settle in at my own pace.
I need a resident dog to help me settle in and I have never met cats.
I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.
I’ve never been on walks before and will need a gentle introduction.
Please be patient with me, I'm nervous and learning everything from scratch.
I am neutered and receiving treatment for a ear infection.
Parker is a nervous boy who has come to us from a breeder. He can be unsure when approached and will sometimes try to hide away, but he is trying so hard to be brave and has recently made some wonderful progress. He is beginning to approach people for treats and, with a little patience, has even started to enjoy having a fuss. He is still learning to trust people, but it is lovely to see him beginning to let his guard down.
Parker has also surprised us with how well he has taken to harness training! He has already enjoyed some walks, happily exploring his surroundings, having lots of sniffs and even meeting a horse along the way. His confidence on walks is coming along beautifully, although his adopters will need to continue building this gradually with quiet walks while he gets used to his new surroundings. We think he could become quite the little adventure companion once his confidence grows!
Parker will be looking for a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who understand nervous ex-breeding dogs and will allow him to settle at his own pace. He will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in his new home who can take him under their wing and help him feel safe and secure.
Parker has never lived in a home before, so his adopters will need to be kind and patient as he learns all about home life, including house training and the routines of a household. He will need plenty of reassurance and encouragement as he continues to build his confidence, without being rushed or pushed beyond what he is comfortable with.
Parker is still a nervous boy, but the progress he has made recently has been wonderful to see. From approaching people for treats to asking for cuddles and enjoying his first walks, he is showing us just how much love and potential he has to give. We really hope someone will give this special boy a chance, as we know that with the right home, he has so much more confidence waiting to shine through.
Parker is currently being treated for a bilateral ear infection.
He has a travel document.
Parker has been given the Gift of Life by Margaret Hunter
