About Benji

I could live with older, dog-savvy teens who respect my space. I can be an only dog or live with other dogs. I have never met cats. I'd like a secure garden to have fun playtimes in. I walk on a lead and would enjoy a nice walk once a day. I have lived in a home so I know the basics. I have been neutered and am ready to find my forever home. 03-11-26 Benji is a beautiful, playful boy who originally came into our care as an unclaimed dog in 2024. He was adopted but has sadly returned to us because of illness in the family, meaning his owners were no longer able to care for him. Benji is feeling a little out of sorts being back in kennels but is coping well. He is a super-loving boy who absolutely adores attention, cuddles and bum scratches. He has been spending lots of time in the office with us while his exercise is restricted and is always happy to soak up some fuss. He has lots of character and a wonderfully silly personality, and we know he would love nothing more than to be back in a home where he can relax on the sofa and enjoy life with his favourite people! Benji can be a little reactive towards other dogs when out on walks, but having spent time in a home, he has made some lovely improvements. He is currently kennelled with a friend and we feel he could potentially live with another suitable dog or as an only dog. His adopters will need to be understanding of his needs and willing to continue supporting him with his training around other dogs. When Benji was initially with us, he could snap at feet when leaving his kennel, but this behaviour has improved massively since his time in a home. He is generally much better around doorways, although he can still become uncomfortable if someone lingers in a doorway or enters without greeting him, so his adopters will need to be mindful of this. Having lived in a home before, Benji is familiar with the sights and sounds of everyday life and will hopefully settle back into a home routine with a little time. He needs a calm home with adopters who understand his breed and can give him the consistency and reassurance he needs. He can live with teenagers aged 16 and over who understand his needs and will respect his space. Benji was castrated and had nasal wedge surgery in 2024. His exercise and activity levels are currently being managed, so he will need adopters who are happy to accommodate his reduced exercise needs. However, he will need to be monitored for any future treatment he may need. Benji really is a lovely little man who is full of character and has so much love to give. He is a typical silly Frenchie who is desperate to get back to being the couch potato he deserves to be! With a calm home, understanding adopters and plenty of cuddles, we know he will be so happy to have a sofa to call his own again.
