About Reggie
Loveable Reggie the English bulldog arrived for rehoming on 13th October 2026. He came to us as a stray. He is estimated to be about 6 years of age.
English bulldogs can require some maintenance, so if you are not familiar with them it is worth reading up on them.
Reggie has suspected entropion on both bottom eyelids which we will have corrected in the next few weeks. If you decide to adopt Reggie you will need to be close enough to us to be to take Reggie to his appointments. Post-op Reggie will wear a cone for a few weeks as he recovers.

Things to consider
As we have no history for him, we do not know if he is house trained, although given his age we would like to think that he is, and he has been clean in his kennels.
We do not know if he is used to being left alone, and you may have to train him to get him used to being left, up to a maximum of four hours.
Handling
A very friendly, cheery boy, who was very happy to see us and allowed us to fit him with a new collar, and one of our temporary harnesses within minutes of arriving. He is a lovely personality, very friendly, but impatient, and chatty without being annoying.
He has been fine meeting new people, with no aggression, no dominance and no fear. He always seems to have a smile on his face. On his first vet visit he also travelled fine in the car.
Walking
Reggie being a bulldog is not going to be after lots of long walks. He is having two 20-minute walks a day with us, and that seems to be about right for him at the moment.
Our walkers have commented on how lovely he has been to walk. No pulling or weaving and does not appear to be bothered by anything he sees on walks. Dogs he has seen he showed some interest, but no bad reactions at all, and happy to just trot on past them.
Play
Just like with the walks, play should be moderated and controlled so that Reggie does not overdo it, and tire himself out too much. He can be quite a lazy player, and one of his ‘party tricks’ with a ball is to lie down with it, release it, then nudge it with his nose back to you.
He loves toys, and was very excited to see the toy box we prepared for him. Not keen on giving toys back unless another toy is offered, or unless it is part of his roll/nudge back to you. Grumbles and barks may occasional be heard. We keep play low level to avoid him getting too tired too quickly.
Health
Reggie has already seen our vet and has had his 1st restart vaccination. Vet highlighted some mildly inflamed skin, but no treatment required. Reggie has bilateral lower eyelid entropion which will be causing him discomfort and may have affected his vision.
Updated 20th October.
Reggie has seen an eye specialist and is now booked in for his surgery on the 11th November (postponed by the vet from the original 4th November)
Reggie can be viewed now, and he can be reserved. Adoptions can take place before he is fully recovered provided you live close enough to us to be able to take him to the vets in Worcester for the surgery and/or post-op appointments, otherwise we will extend the reservation period until he is recovered.
Viewings
During very hot weather, viewings (which have to involve a dog walk) may be suspended or arranged only for early mornings.
