About Louis

Louis is an affectionate, playful greyhound with a real character of his own. Louis has settled well into home life. He's quite independent and enjoys his own space during the day before joining his foster family in the lounge in the evening. At night he's an absolute star, happily sleeping downstairs on his own and knowing his bedtime routine. He loves balls and soft toys and will happily play with his humans or entertain himself. He also loves his food! Meals are eaten enthusiastically and he's an accomplished counter-surfer, so his future family will need to keep tempting food and drinks safely out of reach. Louis can sometimes be determined, so he'll benefit from clear, consistent boundaries. But he also has a wonderfully affectionate side and loves being fussed. Out walking, Louis is still learning how to manage encounters with other dogs. He can become excited or unsure, pulling, whimpering or jumping around. However, we're seeing encouraging progress. On a recent walk he passed several dogs across the road without reacting and even calmly watched a cat. Giving him some distance from other dogs currently helps him manage these encounters. Louis has previously been gentle and patient with young children, although he found the noise and bustle overwhelming, so we think a calmer home or one with older children would suit him best. Louis is playful, affectionate, independent and full of personality. He'll need someone prepared to continue his training and give him clear boundaries, but we think he'll make a wonderfully rewarding companion. To see a video of Louis CLICK HERE
