About Barney

Barney is a very handsome Cane Corso crossbreed who came to us after an urgent plea from the dog pound. He was an unclaimed stray; his time at the pound was up and he only had a few hours to find a rescue space – thankfully we had a kennel available, and he came to us to find his forever home. We did rehome Stevie but after a couple of months he was returned due to a person in the household being allergic to him. Barney he has one of the softest, goofiest, loveable personalities! He’s super friendly and affectionate – he loves people, and makes friends with everybody! He’s a big lad (46kg), but he doesn’t realise it… he would happily be a lap dog if you’d let him! He’s been good with children. Barney has met other dogs, and not been an issue… but with others he can get a little over the top! He may be able to share his home with a medium to large breed female, but this would depend on a dog meeting. He would need a cat free home. He walks reasonably well on the lead, and enjoys his walks… He will need plenty of exercise and stimulation in his new home, to prevent him from becoming bored. His recall is hit and miss! Barney has had some training, but he will need to continue this in his new home. As Barney is a big dog, it would be beneficial if his potential adopters had similar breed experience.
