About Maya
Maya is a little cutie who came to us for rehoming due to her not coping with living with a child…
Maya is a nervous little girl, who will snap if she feels uncomfortable and frightened. It’s taken Maya quite a while to trust the staff here, but once she does trust you.. she’s incredibly affectionate. Maya will need a quiet home, with understanding people who will let her come out of her shell and adjust in her own time.. getting to know her will take several visits to the Ark until she feels comfortable. She will need a home without children.
She’s only small but she’s got a big character! She absolutely loves to play with her soft toys and gets zoomies! She then enjoys hopping up onto your knee for a fuss… and treats! Lots of treats! She will bond well with her new people.
Maya can be okay with other dogs, but then she does like to bark at some too! She’s never shared her home before and we feel that she might be better suited to being the only dog again… as she can be a little possessive over ‘her’ things. She’s not lived with cats.
Mayas previous owner reported that she did have separation anxiety when she was left alone and that she was destructive! She was being left for longer than we would recommend and was probably becoming pretty bored and frustrated. Her ideal home would be somebody who wont leave her much initially… and somebody who is willing to put some work into helping her overcome her anxieties.
