Heart condition

Like most greyhounds, Una has a heart murmur, though unlike most greyhounds, hers doesn't respond well to fast running. For this reason, we would like to find Una a nice quiet home, where she can enjoy adult human company, snoozing the days away.

About Una

Super cute girl Una (Aero Union) is another newbie at our Monkspath kennels. At only just 2 years old, Una now knows that racing is not for her. She appeared very out of breath when running, so her race kennels had lots of tests done to make sure she was ok. Like most greyhounds, Una has a heart murmur, though unlike most greyhounds, hers doesn't respond well to fast running. For this reason, we would like to find Una a nice quiet home, where she can enjoy adult human company, snoozing the days away. Vet reports give her a fine bill of health as a pet, though suggest she should avoid off lead running, more a case of enjoying nice, steady walks, in a calm environment. She is a massive cuddler and laps up human attention. A recent trip out with vols Nick and Rachael gives some more insight.... "Today I got to go out in the big wide world called Baggeridge with volunteers Rachael & Nick. I had to be lifted in the car, though if they lift you up why waste the energy of jumping in! We arrived and I found out that I was being joined by another hound Becks. It was very scary to start with but I soon settled . Apparently I was a very good girl as I did not pull on my lead at all. I saw some squirrels - not bothered, however I did see a very small dog and I did show quite a bit of interest in him, though Becks did too! We went by the pond and round, up and down. It was nice to have company but I can be quite happy on my own too. When we got back the humans sat on the bench whilst I listened to all these new sounds, I took it all in my stride. The children were noisy in the park area but I was not fazed by it. I had to be lifted into the car, I’m not daft, but when we got back to the kennels I jumped out on my own, big girl now, I did have a few lie downs on the way back , apparently I travelled quite well in the car my humans said. I hope I get to go off site soon . All I need is a home and humans that love me. I’m very quiet to start with but once I know you I do smile and warm to you. Una"
