About Ruth

Meet Ruth, a beautiful young Rottie with a big personality, lots of energy, and plenty of love to give! Ruth came into our care as a stray, so unfortunately, we have no history for her and don’t know whether she has ever lived in a home before. She can be a little nervous when meeting new people or finding herself in unfamiliar surroundings, but it doesn’t take her long to come out of her shell and show off her true personality. She is a curious girl who loves to explore, enjoys a good walk, and once comfortable, have a snuggle up on the sofa with her favourite people. At just one year old, Ruth is still learning about the world around her and can be a little excitable and boisterous at times. She is a big girl with plenty of energy, so she will need a family who can channel all that enthusiasm in the right direction. Ruth is a real foody, making training both fun and rewarding. She already knows some basic obedience and is keen to learn more, especially when tasty treats are involved. She also loves her toys and enjoys a good game of fetch, playing swapsies beautifully with her toys. A secure garden would be ideal for Ruth, giving her somewhere safe to have a good zoom around, burn off some of that energy, and continue working on her house training. Ruth has shown she can walk nicely on the lead, but adopters should remember she is a big girl and can be strong, especially when excited or distracted by something, so her new family will need to be prepared to continue working on her lead manners and be confident handling larger dogs. Ruth would like a home where her family is around for a good proportion of the day, as she can struggle a little when left. As we don’t know much about her past, she will need time, patience and understanding while she adjusts to home life and builds confidence being left alone. Ruth is looking for a home where all her humans are over the age of 16, as she is still learning her manners and doesn’t know her own size at times. Ruth would prefer to be the only dog in the home, where she can enjoy all the attention and focus on settling in with her new family. She hasn’t been cat tested, so will need a home without cats or other small animals. Ruth does have the potential to have some dog walking friends in the future after gentle introductions.
