About Freddie
Freddie came into our care as a tiny stray kitten, approximately 5–6 weeks old, suffering from cat flu, with nasal discharge and conjunctivitis. After lots of care and attention, he made a lovely recovery and has grown into a rather sweet, if still slightly nervous, young boy.
Handling has always been something Freddie has found worrying, but with time and patience, he has gradually learned to trust the people around him. Although he can still be cautious when approached, once he gets to know you, he is beginning to enjoy cuddles and fuss. He will often rub himself against you and start purring almost immediately! We believe that, with the right family and a little more time, Freddie has the potential to become a very friendly and affectionate companion.
As Freddie has previously suffered from cat flu, he may occasionally experience flare-ups of conjunctivitis. These are generally manageable with eye drops, but his future owners should be aware of this and be comfortable providing treatment if needed.
We are looking for an understanding home with people who have the time and experience to help a shy and nervous cat build confidence. Due to his timid nature, a quieter household with children over 15 would be best suited to him. Freddie could potentially live with another friendly kitten or young adult cat, provided they are fully vaccinated and their health is monitored. As Freddie has a history of cat flu, there is a possibility of flare-ups and transmission to other cats, so this is something prospective owners should be aware of. He cannot live with dogs.
A home away from busy roads would be essential, so that when Freddie is fully settled and confident, he can eventually enjoy some safe outdoor adventures.
Freddie has now recovered from his initial cat flu and has been neutered and vaccinated. He is ready to find a loving family who will give him the patience, reassurance and understanding he needs to continue blossoming.
If you feel you could offer Freddie the loving home he deserves and have the time and patience to help him grow into the confident cat he has the potential to be, we would love to hear from you.
