About Lucy
Meet this shy lady Lucy!
Lucy came into our care through no fault of her own, along with her puppies. The puppies have all been rehomed now and after some patience, love and care Lucy is now ready to find her forever home. She is still very shy and scared if she doesn’t know you and will shout at you if you visit her in her kennel. Once she knows you, outside of the kennel, she is a very affectionate girl. She gets very excited to see you, so will jump all over you. She likes her treats which is a good way to help her build her confidence around new people. Lucy loves a run around in the compound area or walks in the woods. She is going to need an active family and plenty of mental stimulation to keep her occupied.
Lucy is looking for a very experienced home, with a family that have had nervous rescue dogs before. She is going to need a lot of patience and potential adopters are going to need to be able to commit to multiple meets before she goes home. Lucy is still just a young dog herself so will need all of the basic training and socialisation when she goes home. Lucy has the potential to be a lovely family dog but she does require time and work to help her reach this point.
Due to her being so nervous she needs to be in an adult only home with no visiting children.
Lucy has socialised well with dogs and loves a friend to go on walks with her. She can be very full on and over the top with dogs so would benefit from some further training to teach her some manners. We do believe that she can potentially be rehomed with another dog, it would have to be patient, gentle and of a similar size – subject to a successful meet.
No cats for Lucy.
Please do not apply for a dog if you have a holiday within the next 3 months.
*Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge
