About Dumpling
Dumpling is a very large tabby boy with a face so magnificent you’ll want to squeeze those big, squishy cheeks… but please don’t. He would not appreciate it, and he has made that abundantly clear in the past. We have the scars. Truly.
When he first arrived, Dumpling was all fury and flying paws. Over time—and with a lot of patience—he’s transformed into a friendly, affectionate lad. He rubs around legs like a living battering ram and even jumps up to meet your hand for strokes. But every now and then, a thought crosses his mind: “Wait… can I trust you?” And that’s when you get a sharp smack with claws. It’s less personal and more “I have unresolved feelings about other cats.”
Speaking of which: Dumpling cannot live with other large toms. He despises them. He tolerates younger cats better, but honestly, he’d thrive as the only pet . No dogs. No children. Just adults who understand that love sometimes comes with a side of spicy paw.
He is extremely food‑motivated. Shake a pouch and he’ll gallop over like a furry freight train. Treats? He has mastered the art of the cute head tilt and the “I’m starving” meow to ensure you deliver them promptly.
Dumpling has come a long way, and he’s ready for a fresh start—but only with someone who truly knows how to handle a temperamental cat. Not someone whose entire experience is with soft, placid cuddle‑muffins. Dumpling needs an adopter who understands boundaries, reads feline body language, and won’t crumble at the occasional smack.
He also needs space . A small flat will not do for this big lad or for the amount of food he enjoys. He loves watching birds (strictly as a spectator sport), so a home with a catio, conservatory or a french doors would be perfect—safe for him, safe for the birds, and endlessly entertaining.
If you’re patient, experienced, and ready to welcome a large, cheeky, occasionally dramatic tabby into your life, Dumpling might just be your perfect project cat. See how far our big lad has come on the Pawz for Thought YouTube channel below.
