About Harley

Hello, my name is Harley and I sadly find myself at Raystede as my previous owner developed an allergy to me. My personality: I’m an affectionate boy and I love to receive fusses from my people and to be in their company. I enjoy being groomed which helps to keep my beautiful coat shiny and soft. I’m taking my time to settle into the cattery and am still getting used to the people taking care of me; I can let out a little hiss when I’m worried or unsure, but I’m beginning to show the staff what a lovely boy I can be. Children: I could live with sensible children who understand cats and are happy to give me space when I need it. I lived with a 6-year old when I was a kitten and got on very well with them. Other animals: I’m very scared of cats so would like to be the only cat in the home. I lived with a dog in my previous home which I would ignore. I could live with a calm dog as long as they give me my space and are used to cats, or I may be accepting of a calm visiting dog who will be respectful of me. Additional needs: I would like a safe garden away from busy roads to call my own. I’m used to coming and going via my own cat flap and am known to stay in my own garden for a few hours. I’m not known to wander far or hunt. I'm a British Shorthair, and I therefore can be prone to breed-specific health issues. My breed has a tendency towards gingivitis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and obesity along with other common issues. I would benefit from my new people researching my breed thoroughly to ensure they can provide the correct care for me in the future. This is especially important for me as I am a senior boy. Could you offer me my new purrfect home? Love Harley xxx
