About Pickles

I’m a sweet, shy girl who can be a little nervous meeting new people, especially men, so I need gentle introductions and time to build trust. Once I get to know you, I’m a loving cuddlebug, incredibly loyal, playful and full of fun! I can be strong on the lead, so I need an active, experienced home with someone confident and fit enough to handle me. My ideal family will be patient, understanding and committed to continuing my training while helping me build confidence and become more comfortable with the world around me. Home Compatibility Children: Could live with older children 12+ Dogs: No other dogs Cats: No cats Home Alone Time Comfortable being left: Not initially, would need time to settle first and gradually build up on being left for short periods Training and Behaviour Housetrained: Yes Recall: Needs more work Lead Walking: Needs some training, can pull strongly on the lead Reactivity Towards Dogs: Friendly, but can get quite excitable and bouncy seeing other dogs, needs help learning some doggy manners! Reactivity Towards People: Can be wary of new people, especially men, and bark. Does well with slow and gentle introduction Exercise and Lifestyle Exercise Requirements: Moderate Daily Exercise Needs: Plenty of daily exercise alongside ongoing training, enrichment, and mental stimulation. Favourite Activities: • Exploring quieter walking routes and new places • Training sessions • Enrichment and puzzle games •Playing tug and chasing balls • Spending time with her people and enjoying a cuddle Public Places Comfortable in Public Places (e.g. cafés, pubs, shops, town centres): Can be a little nervous and overwhelmed in busy public spaces, would prefer quieter areas with less human-dog traffic, and gentle and slow exposure to new places Medical Pickles has no known medical issues currently. She is neutered, and up to date with her vaccinations She can be nervous at the vets, and will need gentle and understanding handling Sweet Pickles is looking for a patient and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence. Having come into our care after her owner sadly passed away, very little is known about her background, so we’re still learning more about her every day. Likewise, Pickles is still discovering and learning all about the world around her, and will need a home that can give her the time, patience and understanding she needs to flourish
