About Bella
Hello world! One bundle of fluffy, crazy-haired chaos coming through!
At just over a year old, I’m basically still very much a puppy- playful, bouncy, full of beans and always ready for my next adventure. I’m quite green and haven’t had much exposure to the big wide world or training yet, so I’m looking for someone who can match my energy, have fun with me and patiently help me learn.
With the right person to guide me and continue my training, I know I can grow into a calm, confident and wonderfully well-rounded girl. I’ve got plenty of potential- I just need someone kind, patient and willing to help me find it!
Home Compatibility
Children: Age 12 years +
Dogs: Could potentially live with an older, calm and tolerant dog that can help teach her some doggy manners and skills
Cats: No cats
Home Alone Time
Comfortable Being left: Yes, but would need time to settle first
Maximum Known Duration: 3-4 hours
Training and Behaviour
Car Travel: Travels well
Recall: No, needs more work
Housetrained: Yes, may need some reminders in a new environment
Lead Walking: Needs some work- can pull strongly when excited or nervous.
Reactivity towards Dogs: Bella can get overexcited when meeting other dogs, and may display some on-lead frustration reactivity. She will benefit from continuing to work on her focus and neutrality around other dogs and exciting distractions; learning that she doesn’t always need or get to interact with everything she sees will be an important part of helping her become a more settled and confident dog.
Exercise and Lifestyle
Exercise Requirements: Medium/High
Daily Exercise Needs: Plenty of daily exercise alongside ongoing training, enrichment and mental stimulation
Favourite activities: Playing, chasing tennis balls, cuddles, learning and exploring new things
Public Places
Comfortable in Public Places (e.g cafes, pubs, shops, town centres): Bella will need gradual exposure to the outside world, as she has likely not had much of this previously and can be a bit nervous out on walks. She would prefer quieter places with less human and dog traffic while she works on her training and building her confidence.
Medical
Neutered/Spayed: Not yet
Bella has no known medical issues currently and is up to date with her vaccinations.
Bella is looking for a loving home that can match her energy while continuing to support her training and help her grow into a calm, confident and happy dog.
She came into our care after her owner sadly passed away, so we do not know much about her life or experiences before joining us. We are still learning all about her, and her new family will need to be understanding and be willing to give her the time, patience and reassurance she needs as she continues to learn new things, build her confidence and discover the world around her.
