Dougie does have arthritis in his back legs and takes daily medication to keep him comfortable. He will need to remain on this medication long term, and we’re happy to discuss his medical needs in more detail with any interested adopters. One of Dougie’s favourite things is getting out and about. He loves his walks and thrives when he’s exploring the world around him, although being a French bulldog with his short snout and his arthritis he does need shorter walks, or trips out to the garden centre where he can have a sit down! He loves to walk and play with other dogs and thrives in their company out and about Dougie can display guarding behaviours around items he has found or stolen but has been making great progress with his training!
Dougie is looking for an adult only home with patient owners who are committed to following his training plan. Some management around the home will be needed, and our behaviourist will provide full support with this to ensure his new family feels confident and prepared. A home with a secure private garden would be a dream for Dougie, giving him a safe space to potter about. He would be well suited to someone with experience of resource guarding, or to a family who are keen to learn, put in the training, and help him continue building on the fantastic progress he’s already made.
