About Dash

Dash is a lovely 8 year old gentleman dachshund available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue in the Midlands. Dash is an older gentleman who is looking for his perfect retirement home to spend the rest of his golden years. Dash came into us as sadly his previous owner became unwell and unable to look after him, so he is looking for someone to love him and look after him once again. Dash can be a little wary of new people to start with, not approaching and keeping a safe distance but with a snack or two and a little bit of patience he is sitting in your lap in not time. A calm and quiet lifestyle is what Dash would like so an adult only home would suit him perfectly. Dash has been able to parallel walk with another smaller dog and isn’t fazed by seeing dogs out and about, but he is anxious if they try to interact and can snarl and snap to tell them to back off. It seems he hasn’t been socialised too much previously but with positive interactions we feel this could improve. He can also be quite wriggly at the vets and worried around formal restraint. Dash has recently had a big dental and needed all but 4 teeth removing so may need to be on a softer diet even when fully healed. This little boy is a joy to be around and just wants love and companionship. He is ok to be left for a few hours, although his perfect home would have his family around most of the time, so he can join them on the sofa and go out for a little stroll. He walks well on the lead and does still enjoy getting out and about, although being older and currently a little overweight he needs his walk distance building up! Please get in touch if you think you can offer Dash the perfect retirement home he deserves. Adopt me! Meet our other dogs
