About Kayde

Kayde the GSD cross/German Shepherd cross is available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue in the Midland with ears as big as her heart… both are simply impossible not to fall in love with. Kayde is a playful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent young dog looking for an active home. Her favourite things are playtime and long walks in the countryside. She would make a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys training. Kayde loves learning new things and picks up new skills quickly, making her a joy to work with. She is currently learning to wear a muzzle to help her socialise with other dogs and she needs to wear it for vet examinations. She has been able to socialise with dogs she grew up with off lead previously but since coming into kennels she has become a bit anxious around dogs she does not know. Kayde greets vets and nurses happily and has her vaccines well, but for more invasive procedures she panics. While she needs an active home, after a walk Kayde will be happy to curl up on the sofa for a cuddle and a well-earned nap. Kayde can currently be left for a few hours on her own, and we see the potential this could be built up to a full working day once she has settled in. Kayde would like a quiet more rural home away from lots of noise, as this can unsettle her and she can be vocal at times in the garden especially when new to the environment. Kayde can be anxious around other dogs when out on walks, which can result in her lunging and barking and becoming strong on the lead however she is making progress with positive training and is learning to stay calm in these situations along with some muzzle training. Her current training will be shared with her new family so they can continue with it. She has also been learning to walk nicely on the lead, although like many young dogs she can occasionally become distracted by exciting things around her. Kayde is a playful and enthusiastic young dog, she can occasionally jump up when she’s excited and sometimes can mouth when she plays, so we are looking for a home where everyone is over 16. Kayde is a wonderful, loving dog with so much potential. She’s looking for a committed family who will continue her training, include her in their adventures, and give her all the love and companionship she deserves. Adopt me! Meet our other dogs
