About Bertie

Meet Bertie ❤️ Bertie is around three years old and quite possibly one of the most handsome collies you’ll ever meet. Thankfully, he has a nature to match his good looks! Bertie can be a little shy when faced with new situations and doesn’t always have the confidence to show just how wonderful he really is. He can take a little time to find his feet, but once he feels comfortable and gets to know you, his personality really begins to shine. And what a personality it is! This boy’s entire body literally wags when he sees you coming through the door in the mornings with his breakfast. His enthusiasm is infectious, and seeing how happy he is to see his favourite people is guaranteed to make you smile. Bertie is a lovely, soft-natured boy who adores people and is friendly with everyone he meets. He also gets along well with other dogs, although he can be a little full-on with his enthusiasm! He’s rather like that excitable child in the playground who has boundless energy and wants absolutely everyone to be their best friend. Sometimes the other dogs find his enthusiasm a little exhausting! Being a collie, Bertie loves to be busy and will benefit from an active home that understands the breed and can provide him with appropriate exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation. One area where Bertie will need a little help is his lead training. He can be nervous when walking on a lead, so his new family will need patience and a willingness to work on building his confidence gradually. A secure garden will be particularly important while he continues to develop these skills. What sort of home does Bertie need? We are looking for: A loving home with an understanding of collie breeds. Children aged 8+ who understand and respect his needs. A secure, enclosed garden. Someone patient who can help build his confidence in new situations. A family willing to continue his lead training at his pace. An active home offering plenty of appropriate exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation. Potentially a home with another dog who would be happy to have such an enthusiastic friend! Bertie really is a darling. He’s a gentle, affectionate, happy boy who sometimes just needs a little reassurance that everything is going to be okay. Once he knows you, you’ll have a very devoted little shadow who thinks you’re the best thing since sliced bread! He’s ready to find his people, and we cannot wait to see this gorgeous boy blossom in a home of his own. ❤️
