Bowen

Date of arrival - 23rd April 2026 Bowen – The Sweet Boy With a Secret Cheeky Streak Bowen is a lovely, friendly lad with a quietly mischievous side that peeks out once he feels comfortable. Although he’s been with us since the end of April, he’s one of those gentle souls who is simply present — happy to greet visitors, enjoy a stroll, and share his space with his current kennel mate, Dolcie. Bowen retired in February and, like many newly retired racers, he’s discovering that stamina for longer walks is very different from short racing bursts. He loves going out each day, but at the moment he finds a 30 minute walk quite tiring, especially in warmer weather (anything over 15°C). He’s an expert at cooling off in front of a fan and will happily settle there until he’s comfortable again. His new home will need someone patient and understanding who can start slowly with his exercise and gradually build up his endurance over time. Bowen is not a fan of slippery floors. Homes with laminate, tile, vinyl, or hardwood will need to add non slip rugs or runners to help him move around safely and confidently. • Bowen could happily live with a female greyhound, and he’s recently started showing a playful side with Dolcie. • He cannot live with cats. • He will need ongoing socialisation with dogs of all breeds and sizes to help him continue building confidence.
