About Sukie and Sven

Sukie (black and white) and Sven (silver tabby and white) were born in approximately January '26. They were rescued as young kittens by a lady who took them off the street as they were being chased and tormented by a group of teenagers. Her intention was to find them a good home but they were very timid and traumatised, and ended up staying with her, living in a temporary setup pen in her home for several months before she asked for our help in September. On vet examination Sukie was found to be heavily pregnant and a scan revealed one very large kitten, with birth looking imminent. Sadly her kitten was born between checks and immediately rejected by Sukie and had passed away before her next check. Although very sad we do believe that this has probably turned out for the best as Sukie was too young to be a mother and could only have been mated by Sven, her brother. It also means that they have been able to stay together. They have both now been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and wormed, and are physically fit. They are both still very shy, Sven in particular will hide and shy away from our touch. He does allow very gentle, sensitive handling and we believe he will eventually learn that humans can be trusted but this will need someone very patient and understanding who will allow him the space and time he needs to come around at his own pace. Sukie is more outgoing but still wary. We will prioritise applications from experienced owners who have quiet households and can make them feel safe. They could live with other non territorial cats but are not used to dogs but may be able to live with a very calm and non threatening dog.
