About Almond

Almond is a very sweet small girl ( 15kgs), but it’s clear she has come from a difficult past and right now she is still learning that she is safe. She is not at all nervous in the home once she has settled ( a few days) especially if you have other dogs. She can be quite full of herself wriggly around of the sofa or trying to get the other dogs to play. She is a very affectionate dog who loves to be beside you or snuggle into another dog. Almond will need a home with an adopter who understands that she will need to stay at home and get to know her new person rather than going out for walks. Her world needs to be kept small, calm and predictable while her confidence grows and her adopter will have to be especially patient and understanding. Almond needs someone who can commit to her and provide the following in her forever home to keep her safe: Female-only household is preferred as she prefers the ladies but she can live with a man so long he is prepared to put the effort into making it work. She will be very unsure of the male in the home at first. Someone experienced with, or understanding of, nervous and flight-risk dogs A very secure garden with 6ft fencing – no exceptions will be made so please ensure you have 6 foot fencing all around your garden (gates?) before applying. No bins, planters or other “launch pads” near garden fencing Almond adores other dogs and can happily live with them Plenty of patience, consistency and time Despite everything, Almond already loves treats and cuddles, which gives us a lovely glimpse of the affectionate girl underneath the nerves. If you have the experience, compassion and commitment to offer Almond a safe forever home, apply to adopt below. Please follow Almond’s journey on our Instagram or Facebook page.
