People –Lucie and Ozzie have endured a terrible life which has left them nervous of new people initially, a little time and patience wins them over but they have to trust before they give themselves completely Can I live with children – Given their fears, older teenagers or occasional visiting grandchildren please Can I live with other dogs ­– In foster, Lucie & Ozzie have enjoyed the company of other small doggy friends. They seem to be learning from the other calm dogs about life. So we feel they could either be rehomed on their own, as long as they get lots of exposure to other small, calm dogs to interact with, or they could go into a multi-dog household. Can I live with cats – A feline free home please Health – Given what they have endured they are remarkably healthy, they have had multiple teeth removed but show no other signs of lasting neglect. They love their food. Out and about – Both are learning lots being out and about, but progress has been made in foster. Lucie is more reactive to larger dogs, but can be managed by asking for space. Ozzie will follow Lucie’s lead. Both prefer space initially, but with a confident calm handler, they settle quickly. It is important that although little, they are not treated like cuddly toys, they will gain confidence when handled in a calm, confident way. They enjoy pack walks, with other little dogs. Travelled well in car, with of course the occasional bark at new exciting sights. In the home – They have settled well in foster and are clean in the house. They are nervous of visitors to the home, both will bark until they are certain they are safe people and then they will approach. She can also be vocal with unexpected noises but settles as soon as she is reassured. Ozzie will chime in with his behaviour but both look to their trusted humans for guidance and security. Type of home – These two have endured a life that no animal ever should, the fact that they still want to trust in people when they have been so terribly let down by them is testament to what little treasures they really are. Patience and understanding are key with them and new owners will need to have a good understanding of fearful, traumatised dogs. Although they have lots to learn about life, they should not be molly cuddled. They will gain confidence and learn to enjoy all about life under the trained calm guidance of a confident new forever owner. Both have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and are up to date with flea and worming treatment, they have also had a full dental with multiple extractions PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL CONSIDER ALL APPLICATIONS IF THEY MATCH THE RE HOMING CRITERIA AS PLACED.
