Sun & Sloth

We came to the sanctuary in February when we were just three weeks old, along with our mummy, Daisie-May, and our siblings, Polar and Panda. Sadly, our whole family was surrendered into the sanctuary’s care when our owner moved away, which was in our best interests. Our siblings found their new home a few months ago, but we have been waiting patiently for our turn. Sadly, I, Sloth, injured my leg a little while ago and have been recovering, so our search for a home has taken a little longer. But I am doing well, and we are still hoping that someone will fall in love with us and give us the forever home we deserve. We are both very sweet, gentle and loving kittens who enjoy attention and affection. We love playing with our toys and having fun, but we are fairly chilled kittens too. We are a very sweet-natured bonded pair and absolutely love each other’s company, especially when it comes to snuggling up together. We are ready to find our forever home together and would love for that to be with someone who can see what special little kittens we are. Home we are looking for… We could live with sensible children aged 6 years and over. Our ideal home would be one where we have plenty of company, attention and opportunities for play and cuddles. We could also live with other cat-friendly cats, provided they are happy to share their home with two kittens. We may even be able to live with a calm, cat-friendly dog who will give us plenty of time to settle in. Due to my (Sloth’s) leg issue, we are looking for an indoor-only home where we can enjoy plenty of enrichment, including toys, puzzle feeders, scratching posts and cat furniture to keep us happy and entertained, while helping to prevent me from overdoing things and aggravating my leg. A secure catio would be a lovely bonus, but isn’t essential. Please don’t let my little leg issue put you off considering us. I am still a happy, playful and loving kitten, and it doesn’t stop me enjoying life. I just need a little extra consideration and the right home to help me stay happy and comfortable. We have Scrumbles kitten dry and Whiskas kitten wet food. It is advised to feed at least a good quality dry food. It is recommended that we stay on the current food we are on whilst we settle in a new home. Medical history… Sloth sustained some trauma to his front right leg a few months ago. We suspect this may have happened after a fall from his pen door, as he loved climbing up it! He has had a period of pen rest and anti-inflammatory medication, which has helped improve the leg. Following further examinations with the vet, Sloth has now been diagnosed with carpal hyperextension, which is an abnormality of the wrist (carpus) that causes the joint to extend further than normal. Unfortunately, it is unlikely to fully resolve and he may have occasional flare-ups, particularly if he overdoes things, but he is not expected to be in pain with the condition. Aside from this, Sloth is a happy and healthy boy, and his sister Sun is also a healthy happy girl. Just to note: I have a tiny little bend at the tip of my tail, which is likely something I was born with. It doesn’t cause me any problems or require any treatment. It’s just my own little quirk!
