About Hero

Meet this handsome boy Hero! Hero is an ex racing greyhound who is now looking for his forever home with a family that can help him settle into life beyond the kennels. He is a confident, lively boy with plenty of personality. He gets very excited when it’s time for a walk and can jump around on the lead, so will need someone who is comfortable handling a tall strong greyhound. With a little training and consistency this is something that can be worked on. Although he is confident in many ways, he does need help building his confidence when it comes to being touched and handled as he can get a little worried.  Hero deserves the chance to learn, grow and discover just how good life can be outside of kennels. Hero can be rehomed with mature children who are 16 years and over, due to his size and bouncy nature. This will be subject to a successful meet. Hero is currently paired with another greyhound and has interreacted well with dogs whilst in our care, so we believe that he would be rehomed with another dog- subject to a successful meet and greet. No cats or small furries for Hero due to his prey drive. Please do not apply for a dog if you have a holiday within the next 3  months. *Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge
