Hi, I’m Harper 🐾 I’m a beautiful 8-year-old German Shepherd Cross with a big heart, a clever mind, and so much love to give. I’m searching for a special forever home where I can truly shine. Before coming to Jerry Green Dog Rescue, I had a home and an owner who loved me very much. Sadly, they became seriously ill and could no longer care for me, so everything I knew suddenly changed. I’ve now been waiting for my forever home at Jerry Green, and I even celebrated my eighth birthday while in the rescue’s care. I’m really hoping my next big milestone will be going home for good. I was lucky enough to spend some time in a foster home recently, where I showed everyone what a wonderful companion I can be. I’m fully housetrained, calm and well-mannered around the home, and I love nothing more than a cosy sofa, plenty of fuss and a good bum scratch! I fitted beautifully into everyday family life. I happily kept my foster family company while they worked from home, welcomed visitors politely and knew when it was time to simply stretch out and relax nearby. I’m a very happy girl too. When I’m pleased to see you, my tail isn’t enough , my whole body wriggles! If you’re really special, you might even be treated to my famous “happy helicopter” tail! Don’t let my age fool you, because I still love an adventure. I enjoy walks, exploring new places, sniffing games and puzzles, and I absolutely love water! Any opportunity for a splash gets a big paws-up from me! Afterwards, I’m equally happy curling up on the sofa for a cosy evening. For my forever home, I’ll need a secure garden and would like to be your one and only dog. I can find other dogs a little overwhelming, although I’m making great progress. I also can’t live with cats or small furry animals as I find them far too exciting to chase! I could live with sensible children aged 11 and over, and once I’ve settled into my new routine, I could initially be left for around two hours, with the potential to build this up over time. I’ve already had to say goodbye to the home and person I loved, and now I’m ready to belong to someone again. If you have room in your home and your heart for a loyal, affectionate girl whose whole body will wriggle with happiness when you walk through the door, please don’t let me keep waiting.
