Meet Jasper! Jasper is a sweet and sensitive boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can continue to grow in confidence and show what a lovely companion he can be. Jasper is a clever boy who really enjoys learning and is very food motivated making training a great way to build his confidence and keep his mind busy. He already knows lots of commands including sit wait paw and lie down and he is always keen to learn when there are tasty treats involved! Out on walks Jasper can be a lovely walking companion and generally walks well although he can pull forwards when something catches his attention. He enjoys exploring and playing with his soft toys but he can become easily bored if play doesn’t keep him interested. If he decides the toys aren’t quite exciting enough he has been known to grab hold of the tyres instead! Jasper can be head-shy around new people so he needs a family who will give him time to build trust and won’t rush him into interactions. Once he feels comfortable his sweet personality really starts to shine. He would be best suited to a home with children aged 13 and over where he can have the calm environment and understanding he needs. Jasper is looking for a home as the only dog. He can bark and lunge when he sees other dogs so his new family will need to be prepared to continue working with him and manage his walks appropriately. With patience consistency and positive training we hope Jasper can continue to build his confidence and learn that he doesn’t need to worry about the world around him. If you’re looking for a clever food-loving boy with plenty of personality Jasper could be the one for you. He will need someone who is willing to take things at his pace give him time to trust and provide plenty of mental stimulation to keep his clever mind occupied. Jasper has so much potential and is waiting for someone who will see the lovely boy underneath his initial nerves and give him the chance to flourish.
