Meet beautiful Niamh! Niamh is a sweet clever and loving girl who has come such a long way in foster and is now ready to find her forever home. When Niamh first arrived her foster family followed the three days three weeks and three months approach giving her the time and patience she needed to settle. Three months on she has really blossomed. Her separation anxiety has improved hugely and she is now very settled at home. She loves a comfy settee will often take herself off to bed around 9.30pm and is perfectly happy enjoying her own company. Niamh is incredibly affectionate and loyal to her people. She loves adults and gets very excited when they come home although she is still learning to keep those greetings a little calmer! She is best suited to a home with adults or older children as she can find smaller children overwhelming particularly when they are at her eye level. She is a clever girl who learns quickly and loves being part of family life. She enjoys early morning walks relaxing in the garden running freely in a secure paddock and even accompanying her foster family to the pub! Because of an old leg injury calmer free-running is much better for Niamh than frantic zoomies or lots of ball chasing so her family are careful to keep her exercise suitable for her. Niamh is also very food motivated and has a particular weakness for pigs’ ears. Give her one of those and you’ve definitely won her heart! She loves her teddies too and will sometimes carry them outside to entertain herself. Niamh does have some things she needs her forever family to understand. She isn’t comfortable around cats although she is making progress when she sees them and she isn’t keen on being approached by young children. In busy public places she is muzzled for her safety which she accepts very well. She can also gently nudge away hands if she doesn’t want to be touched so she needs people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to approach in her own time. Despite these little quirks Niamh has been an absolute delight in foster. She is loving loyal funny and full of personality and her foster family have loved watching her confidence grow. Now after all the progress she has made Niamh is ready for the next chapter. She needs a patient and understanding family who will continue to give her the love guidance and security she deserves. In return she will give them a whole lot of love loyalty and plenty of entertaining moments along the way. Could you be the forever family Niamh has been waiting for?
