Alfie

Alfie is a friendly boy when meeting other dogs and would be happy to have walking buddies, but he would be prefer to have is humans all to himself at home. He also cannot live with cats or small furries. Alfie is not currently able to be left alone, so his new family will need to be around for him initially and be prepared to gradually build up the amount of time he can comfortably spend by himself as he adjust to his new surroundings and family. He is a loving, playful and affectionate boy who enjoys being part of family life and will make a wonderful companion for the right home. If you are looking for a big-hearted dog with an equally big personality, Alfie could be the fabulous new addition you have been looking for. Please note Alfie is on our home stay scheme and not currently here at the centre. Alfie is a gorgeous 5-years and 9 month-old Great Dane x Poodle who, through no fault of his own, is looking for his new forever home. He is a fantastic four-legged friend who is fully housetrained and sleeps happily through the night on his own bed. Alfie loves people and is very friendly when meeting new faces. He may initially bark when visitors arrive, but he soon settles and is always happy to receive some fuss. Alfie loves to play, especially with his favourite rubber ball, and would benefit from use of a secure outdoor space he can stretch his legs and enjoy some fun. He is a gentle boy, although he can sometimes forget just how big he is when he gets excited! A home with older secondary aged children that are comfortable with large breed bouncy dogs would be preferable. Alfie is also scared of fireworks, so his new family will need to be prepared to support him through firework season.
