Poppy

Meet Poppy!  She is looking for an active and loving forever home.  Poppy can be a little nervous when she first meets you, but once she gets to know you, her lovely, friendly personality really shines through.  She absolutely loves lots of fuss and of course tasty treats!  This is a very energetic and bouncy young girl who will need a home that can keep up with her.  An active family who enjoys plenty of walks, outdoor adventures and playtime would be ideal.  Breed experience would be an advantage, particularly for someone who understands the energy and needs of Husky type dogs.  Poppy loves running around our compound with her toys and will happily drop it for you to throw again.  She also has a funny, playful side – she likes playing in her water bowl and will happily spend time splashing about in it. Like any young dog, Poppy is still learning and will need continued patience, training and guidance.  She does know lots of commands, which is a fantastic starting point, although she can be strong on the lead and will need someone confident and capable of helping her improve her lead manners.  Poppy is also still working on her house training and does occasionally use her bed as a toilet, so her new adopter will need to be prepared to continue working with her patiently and positively.  Despite these little quirks, Poppy is a lovely, affectionate and fun-loving girl with so much potential.  She will need a private secure garden. Poppy has socialised well with other dogs whilst in our care and is very giddy and playful with them, so we feel following a successful meet and greet she could be rehomed with another dog of similar size and energy levels (must be neutered). No cats for Poppy. As Poppy came into the home as a stray, we have no previous history on her so would prefer any children in the home to be 12+ years. If you have a holiday booked in the next 3 months, please wait until you return to apply for a dog. *Applications that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge.
