Meet Cookie, our cheeky chi cross! Cookie is a sweet but sensitive boy who has come a long way since arriving with us, growing a real circle of trusted people and letting his fun, sassy personality shine through. He is affectionate with those he knows and loves a cuddle or a lap to climb into. He is happiest with his nose down searching for hidden treats or entertaining himself with a favourite toy. Although he can be worried by new people and situations, Cookie has shown that with patience and reassurance he settles well and builds trust over time. Cookie is looking for an experienced owner who can give him the time, consistency and confidence building he needs. He could be homed to a dedicated single-carer household, as he tends to settle happily on his own once he knows his person. He is looking for a calm home in a quiet location away from the hustle of inner-city life. Cookie has a lovely history of socialising with smaller dogs and has continued to form friendships with dogs of a similar size and temperament during his stay. He could thrive living alongside a confident, well matched smaller dog who could help him feel secure both at home and out on walks. Cookie will need a cat and small animal free home, as he has shown an interest in chasing pigeons. As there's no known history of Cookie living with or meeting children, he would be best suited to an adult-only home where his boundaries can be properly understood and respected, with any visiting children carefully managed by a known adult. A secure private garden would benefit Cookie, giving him a safe space to play, burn off energy and support him with housetraining as he settles in. Cookie is a wonderful boy with real warmth underneath his worries and with time and patience he will quickly show his sweet, loving personality.
