Odette

I'd like a quiet, adult-only home to help me relax and feel safe. I need a doggy friend in my new home. I haven’t met cats so I’m unsure. I'd like a secure garden to potter around in. I haven't tried walks yet, a secure garden will be fine for now. Please be patient with me, I need to learn house training and lead walking. I have a Grade 2 heart murmur & I will be spayed. 17-09-26 Odette is a heartbreaking little girl who has come into our care from a breeder and is not coping well with her new surroundings right now. She is absolutely terrified and very shut down, so she needs slow, careful handling and plenty of patience. At the moment, she mostly tries to bury her head in her bed when you interact with her and has been too frightened to eat unless she is left alone somewhere quiet. Despite this, we are already starting to see a little improvement, which is encouraging. Odette will need another kind and confident dog in her new home, and this dog will be a much-needed support system for her as she learns to trust and gains confidence. As Odette has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her adopters will need to understand that this will take time and that she will need to progress at her own pace. Odette has a Grade 2 heart murmur which does not appear to be bothering her. This little girl has a long way to go, but we hope that with patient adopters, a reassuring canine companion and plenty of time, she will slowly begin to feel safe and discover the happier, more comfortable life she deserves.
