Pixie

When Pixie knows someone well, she adores a fuss and a snuggle and she will paw you for more fuss if you stop. Initially she is wary of new people and the best way to start a friendship is to sit down and let her come to you. She may flinch if you were to suddenly lift your arm too quickly, so go nice and slowly! She likes treats and her absolute favourite is sausage. Pixie’s ideal walks are quiet, tranquil locations, away from the hustle and bustle. She lacks confidence when out and about and she may choose to follow behind you on her lead. Her recall will need practice before Pixie can venture off her lead, plus she may be spooked by loud noises. Pixie is nervous of other dogs and has been building up confidence by walking with calm dogs who are happy to do their own thing and ignore her. Pixie is an eight-year-old Hungarian Pumi looking for a loving home with gentle, understanding and kind people. Pixie will need a quiet home environment as she is a nervous girl who is worried by loud, unpredictable noises. She will need new experiences building up gradually so she can gain confidence with the world around her. We expect her to build a strong bond once she is in a home environment and she will make a loving, affectionate friend. She may need reminding of where to go with her housetraining and time left alone will need to be build up gradually. Pixie is looking to be the only dog in the home, and we have no history of her with cats, small furries, or livestock. She could share her home with upper secondary school aged children.
