Gus

Gus is looking through a new family through no fault of his own, and has had a difficult time of late. He is a lovely boy, very friendly and playful and his adopters will need to help him settle and find his confidence again. Gus is friendly towards other dogs but he is humping them, and his handlers, quite persistently. It's often when he isn't sure how to behave and some confidence building and settling into a new routine may alleviate this over time. His carers have already begun helping him to redirect this behaviour onto other objects, or into another behaviour altogether. Gus is very good on his walks and enjoys pottering about, but if he doesn't want to go somewhere he will quite happily put the brakes on! He's a well mannered dog who will instigate play with others, but walks with pals should be kept brief initially to avoid any unwelcome behaviour from Gus. He loves his toys, sometimes so much that they end up in many pieces! Gus can live with teenaged children but no other pets, the reason being that although dog friendly, he humps rather a lot. He is house trained but not used to being left by himself, so will need any solo time to be built up gradually.
