Desmond

Desmond came to Woodgreen as a stray. Therefore we don’t know if he has ever been around children. Although he is a very social, loving boy, he does get frightened by loud noises. Due to this, we feel he will be best suited to a family with children aged 8 plus. Desmond would benefit from a private, secure garden to burn off his energy off lead. This will also be beneficial for his toilet training. Desmond is a social boy and enjoys the company of other dogs. He is very gentle and in his time at Woodgreen he has helped some of our more nervous dogs grow in confidence. Desmond loves to play off lead, especially with other lurchers! If Desmond is the only dog in the home, he would really appreciate some walking/play buddies. Desmond is a very sweet-natured Lurcher who has come such a long way since arriving with us. He was once quite a worried boy, but with time, patience and plenty of kindness, Desmond has really come out of his shell and is now showing us what a lovely boy he truly is. Desmond enjoys the company of other long-legged dogs and would be happiest with canine friends who understand his gentle nature. He also loves being around his people and is happiest when he can spend time with his human companions. One of Desmond’s favourite things in life is going for a good, long walk. He absolutely loves exploring and will happily sniff every blade of grass along the way! For him, walks are all about taking his time, investigating the world and enjoying all those wonderful smells. Although Desmond has grown in confidence enormously, he can still be sensitive to loud or unexpected noises. He will therefore need a calm, understanding home where his people will continue to build his confidence and give him the reassurance he needs. Desmond is a gentle, affectionate boy who has shown us just how much he has to offer. He’s ready for a loving home where he can continue to blossom, enjoy plenty of lovely walks and finally have the happy life he deserves.
